Exploring the historical villages, olive groves, spring-filled valleys, thermal facilities, and mythological landmarks of the Kaz Mountains is truly priceless.
Every year, over 2,000 trail runners from all around the world come to Edremit, in the Balıkesir province, to run through the Kaz Mountains.
Held during the last week of November, the event makes a significant contribution to the local community, hotels, and the town of Edremit.
The organization features 5 different race courses:
8.5K “Sekiz Buçuk” Run
The “Sekiz Buçuk” is a lush, partially asphalt and partially trail race between Güre—famous for its thermal springs—and the historic village of Çamlıbel in Balıkesir’s Edremit district.
The course is 8.5 km long with an elevation gain of 200 meters.
15K Village Run (KÖK)
The Village Run is a winter trail race held in the mythological Ida Mountains (Kaz Mountains), offering mesmerizing views of the Edremit Gulf. Runners pass through historic villages and olive groves along the way.
The course is 15 km long with an elevation gain of 640 meters.
36K Run Zeus (RUZ)
Run Zeus is a winter trail race in the mythological Ida Mountains, where participants run among ancient villages and olive orchards with breathtaking views of the Edremit Gulf.
The course is 36 km long with an elevation gain of 1,640 meters.
66K Ida Half Ultra (İHU)
The Ida Half Ultra is held in the mythological Ida Mountains and offers a challenging yet scenic winter trail race through historical villages and olive groves, overlooking the Edremit Gulf.
The course is 66 km long with an elevation gain of 2,670 meters.
110K Ida Ultra (İDU)
The Ida Ultra is the longest race in the series, held in the legendary Ida Mountains. Participants run through historic villages and olive groves, accompanied by panoramic views of the Edremit Gulf.
The course is 110 km long with an elevation gain of 4,270 meters.
